WHAT IS IT?

what is it?

Phuket Quest City Game is a competitive city game. In simple words its like "The Da Vinci Code" in our city against other teams.
In official words it is an open interactive scavenger hunt, in which teams of 4 people use their own knowledge, internet and logic. They need to resolve puzzles, riddles and questions to understand what the place of island hide CODE. After this they need to arrive at that place, find code and get next riddle. A challenge of combination ability and logic.

REGISTER YOUR TEAM

Just let us know, that you are in. Telegram, WhatsApp or any other way
Your team can have up to 4 members and 2 vehicles (Bikes or cars)

 DAY OF THE GAME

All teams arrive at start location at the appointed time. We inform it in advance.
All teams pay "Enter Fee of Team". All contributions make up the prize pool for winners

RECEIVE YOUR FIRST TASK

All teams receive the first task. Some place of the city is hidden in the task. Team need
to solve the task in any way (Use internet or your own knowledge) and find what place inside

FIND THE CODE

Team arrive to location, that they find in puzzle. Somewhere is hidden the GAME CODE.
Teams need to find it and send to administrators in special chat. In response they will receive the points and the next task. All games contain 5-8 tasks and places in total

WIN THE GAME

One by one team resolve all puzzles and find the way to final location. Who will  have more points then others - is winners.

Phuket Quest Game Rules.


The organizer reserves the right to make minor additions and changes that do not affect the fundamental principles of the game, while undertaking to inform the interested parties.


1. Rules of the game

1.1. The game is organized on the following principles:

- The principle of fair play, which is to be observed by the players, meaning that players shall not deliberately hinder or help opponents;

- The principle of safe play. Players will never violate the laws of the country in any of the tasks. None of the clues will be hidden in a closed area, in a dangerous area, in the area to enter which you need to apply additional efforts (talk to someone, go behind the "bar", etc.). All clues are always located in a public safe area and cannot violate the measures of law, religion and common sense.

-The principle of independent performance of levels by each team of participants, which is observed by the players and the organizer;

- The principle of equal conditions for the fulfillment of levels for each of the teams, which is observed by the organizers and the coordinator;

- The principle of separation of the organizer and coordinator from teams and / or individual players;

- The principle of security of participation, which implies that any participant can refuse to perform the task if its implementation entails or may entail a threat to the life and / or health of the participant and / or third parties;

1.2. Only participants over 18 years old who have paid the costs of the game and have received safety instructions are allowed to play

 

2. Registration

2.1. Registration in the game is voluntary.

2.2. To register a Team of participants (hereinafter referred to as the Team), you must contact the organizers by any of the available methods.

2.3. The registration of the Team may be canceled if it turns out that the Team has provided inaccurate data.

2.3. Participants of the game, by applying for registration through their leader, confirm their knowledge of the rules of the game. The Team Leader, when applying for the game, confirms this him/herself and undertakes to instruct all members of his Team;

2.5. Upon registration, the participant also agrees that:

2.5.1. He/she may be refused registration;

2.5.2. In case of providing false information about yourself (for example, last name), the organizer may refuse your participation 

2.5.3. Participation in the game organized by the organizer is voluntary, and the participants refused any material or having other claims and requirements that may be put forward by them in relation to the organizer, the owners of the property where the game is held, as well as in relation to other participants , in the event of injury or other physical, moral or material damage.

2.5.4. When resolving disputes between the participants in the game, the decisions of the local organizer and the coordinator are final.

2.5.5. The games will be held at a strictly appointed time and regardless of meteorological conditions, with the exception of force majeure circumstances that might threaten the life and health of players.

2.5.6. Possible errors in questions / assignments are also an integral part of the game.

2.5.7. The participant has the right not to perform the task if their fulfillment entails or may entail a threat to the life and (or) health of the participant or third parties

 

3. Limitations

3.1. Participation in the game is voluntary

3.2. Each person participating in the game, agrees with all the rules of the game, and also independently bears full responsibility for any risk that might happen during the game.

3.3. Persons under the age of 18 cannot participate in the game. The Team Leaders are responsible for the implementation of this clause.

3.4. If less than 4 Teams have applied for the game and confirmed their participation, the game may not be played.

3.5. Participants are prohibited from creating obstacles to rivals, destroying clues and tasks intended for other Teams, creating false clues, as well as informing other Teams of any information about the levels that may facilitate or complicate their passage, and provide false information with a link to the organizer.

3.6. Participants are prohibited from destroying locations, their parts and / or objects located on them, or in the immediate surroundings of them from the moment the game starts. It is also forbidden to arrange fireworks, blow up firecrackers, explosion packets, smoke bombs and in any way create noise that is unreasonable by the logic of the task, attract the attention of local residents and / or law enforcement officers.

3.7. The implementation of all tasks of the game is provided in ways that do not threaten the life and health of either the players or other persons. It is unacceptable to violate the laws of the country where the game is played. Team members are personally liable for violations of laws.

3.8. Game participants have the right to refuse to perform any task in the game if they believe that its implementation is impossible without violating the laws or there is a danger to life.

 

4. Organization of games

4.1. The money collected from the participants is the payment for the costs of the game (entourage, accessories ...) and is not the organizer's income or salary.

4.2. The prize fund consists of the teams' contributions, minus the costs of running the game.

 

5. Game

5.1. The game consists of sequential passage of levels.

5.2. The standard number of levels is 6.

5.3 The site publishes preliminary information about the game, which includes: the name of the game, the station (zone of the game) and additional accessories.

5.4. As a result of passing the level, the Team receives a code. The code consists of a set of numbers from 1 to 9 and the letters PH. The characters that make up the code are in any order. Both letters are required.

 5.5 The received code is sent by the Team to the organizer via a special chat in a telegram. If the code is correct, the team receives a set of 3 quiz questions. The team receives points for answering each question. After all three questions, the Team receives the next task.

5.6. The team may ask the coordinator for up to two tips for each stage. For each hint, the team scores points equal to 1/4 points for this stage.

5.7. If a Team does not pass a level within 90 minutes, it automatically receives a task to the next level of the game and 1/4 of the number of points of this level.

5.8. The team has the opportunity to take a break of 60 minutes twice per game. The break time starts running after the end of the current task. A team may resume play at any time during the break. You can report the decision to take a break at any time, but it must be before the team receives the next task.

5.9. It is possible to use early bonus tips, both during the game and before it starts. Bonus tips are given to the teams that took 2,3,4 and 5 places in the previous game.

5.10. The game can last no more than 10 hours, or until all levels are completed by at least 70% of the Teams.

5.11. The time of the finish of the Team is the time of the message of the correct code of the last level.

5.12. Some levels involve photographing the code. Photos are presented in the order determined by the organizer.

5.13. The organizer ensures equality of conditions when issuing tasks for the game.

5.14 Games are held on the date indicated by the organizers no later than a week before the start of the game.

5.15. Some time before the start of the game, which is determined by the organizer, a briefing is held, at which safety instructions are given to all participants, the area of ​​coverage for the current game (“dosotoria”) is announced, additional accessories can be awarded, and information necessary for successful completion of the levels.

5.16. Awards and prizes will be awarded to the first, second, third, fourth and fifth place teams. For the first place - a prize fund. For the second and third - gifts from partners and bonus tips for the next game. For the fourth and fifth - bonus tips for the next game.

5.17. The prize cannot be transferred to another team, nor can it be given out in cash.

5.18. For the first place, the team receives a 100% discount on participation in any game.

5.19 For the second place, the team receives a 50% discount on participation in any game of the current season.

 

6. Game points.

6.1. The points in the game are added as follows:

6.1.1 For passing the level (finding the code at the location) - 40 points. For each hint, the team is deducted 10 points from this level. Accordingly, the minimum that a team will receive using both tips is 20 points (provided that they pass the level).

6.1.2 For answering each question after the team sent the level code - 10 points for each question. In total, the maximum is 30 points.

6.1.3 If the team does not manage to complete the level in 90 minutes, it gets 10 points (provided that they did not take the hints).

6.1.4 In total, the current maximum points for one level is 70 (forty for completing a level without taken hints and 30 for three correct answers to quiz questions)

6.1.5. Team ranking system. All team points in the current game are transferred to the overall team ranking of the season. After the season ends, all points will be reset. The top five finishers of the season will be asked to play the final game at higher stakes.

 

7. Results of the game

7.1. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

7.2. With the same number of points for the teams, the total time of the game is taken into account, minus the time for breaks.

7.3 Only the data published on the game website is recognized as official. All other published results are considered preliminary.

7.4. Bonus time is credited for completing bonus levels and is governed by clause 7 of these rules.

7.5. The official website publishes the execution time of each level for each Team.

 7.6. The final results are announced within 72 hours after the finish of the last Team and published on the official website of the game.

 

8. Penalties and bonuses

8.1. Messages about the imposition of penalties and bonuses on a specific Team and their reasons are announced at the leaders’ gathering and / or when announcing the results, and are also published on the game statistics page.

8.2. For minor violations, the Team receives from 10 to 40 penalty points. The exact amount is determined by the organizer based on common sense and logic.

8.3. For violations related to the violation of the principle of independent performance of the level, including the surveillance of cars and players of other Teams, the offending Team receives from 30 to 90 penalty points.

8.4. The punishment includes personal and team responsibility. Personal responsibility is imposed on the player, team responsibility - on the team of which the player is a member.

8.5. Creation of deliberate obstacles to other Teams in order to delay their completion of tasks (blocking roads, approaches, hiding keys and signs, etc.) - the offending team receives from 70 to 200 penalty points. With the complete destruction of tips, signs, codes, etc. - the team is completely disqualified for this game and all its members are disqualified for the entire season.

8.6. In some tasks, it is implied the accrual of penalty minutes for failure to fulfill the conditions of the level. This is reported additionally.

8.7. For violation by the players of the Teams of the laws and regulations in force in the territory of the country where the game is played, administrative and criminal liability is provided in accordance with the laws of this country. The execution of penalties lies with the relevant executive bodies of the country where the game is played.

8.8. For violation of the laws of the country where the game is held, each participant is personally liable in accordance with applicable law.

8.9. For gross violation of traffic rules, which carries a real danger to the population, the organizer can fine the Team by 50-90 penalty points. In special cases that discredit the image of the game (capable of creating a wrong opinion about the game, players and / or equating it with fundamentally different projects, speed races), the organizer has the right to disqualify the Team for one game or even for the entire season.

8.10. In case of violation of the conditions mentioned in the note to the assignment, the Organizer may assign penalty points.

8.11. Incorrect behavior of the Team during the game, insulting the honor and dignity of other participants, the organizer - from a fine of 30 points to disqualification of participants for a future game at the discretion of the organizer. In case of a repeated violation, participants will be disqualified for 3 months.

8.12. For repeated incorrect behavior of the Team - disqualification of the Team for the entire season.

8.13. Disqualification of the results of a Team for one or several games is applied as an emergency measure in case of violation of the principles of the game:

8.13.1. Intentional damage to codes and pointers, both personal and general.

8.13.2. Creation of false codes and pointers.

8.13.3. Inappropriate behavior towards other teams

8.13.4. Tracking the organizers cars

8.13.5. Providing the organizer with false / fabricated information in order to influence the course / results of the game.

8.13.6. Sending false / fabricated information to other Teams with a link to the organizer or on behalf of someone else.

8.14. Penalties for other violations are determined by the organizer additionally.

8.15. The Organizer has the right to disqualify the Team based on the accumulated suspicions for several games, the Team's behavior and / or the conversations of individual players that indicate a violation of these rules.

 

9. Force majeure

9.1. In the event of any force majeure, the team is obliged to inform the Organizer.

9.2. Force majeure is a situation in which the Teams are placed in unequal conditions for performing the same task for reasons beyond the control of the affected Teams (that is, through the fault of other Teams, organizers, law enforcement agencies ...).

Force majeure is not a situation in which unequal conditions have appeared for reasons that depend only on the Team itself (loss of communication on the Team's side, failure of cars, lack of necessary and additional accessories).

9.3. Adding game time

9.3.1. The playing time is extended for teams that have spent playing time on tasks removed as a result of force majeure; for downtime that arose for reasons that did not depend on the actions or inactions of the team.
